Research Assistant - [REF: CNT2013-2]

The Center for Nanotechnology (CNT) at Zewail City of Science and Technology (ZCST) is one of a kind research facility in the Middle East with multidisciplinary research nature. The center encompasses a class 100 clean room with state of the art Nano/Micro fabrication tools along with cutting edge characterization equipment.

The center announces the opening of three research positions in the fields of Micro/Nano Electro-mechanical Systems (MEMS/NEMS) at the level of research assistant. The conducted research in the center will entail applications in the fields of Millimeter wave and Terahertz technology and its applications in communications systems, biomedical, and sensing.

We seek team player, highly motivated individual with B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering with strong background in basics science, RF/electromagnetics and solid state physics (individuals with a working experience in electronics would be a plus). The potential candidate is expected to participate in initial start-up phase of the Center for Nanofabrication and work closely with the director and the staff. It is preferred to have prior publications or conference presentations

The potential candidates are expected to do cutting edge research in the above mentioned disciplines at the level of Master and PhD degrees. The responsibilities of the selected candidate will include, but not limited to:

  1. Doing intensive literature survey
  2. Clean Room fabrication process developments.
  3. Writing research papers and review articles
  4. Database management
  5. Ordering equipment and supplies
  6. Administrative work
  7. The potential candidate is expected to participate in initial start-up phase of the Center for Nanofabrication and work closely with the director and the staff.
All research assistants admitted to the program will receive a salary. Tuition support will be provided to degree students.
