Verification Engineer

Newport Media Inc., a fables semiconductor company, is seeking highly motivated VLSI engineers to fill positions at its Egypt Design Center. This is an opportunity to work in developing state-of the art wireless technology. 

Job Description: 
Successful candidates will work in collaboration with VLSI design and integration engineers to lead verification effort for a given block or function within an SoC design project. Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): 

• Creating verification plan and defining test cases to maximize test coverage 
  
• Writing test bench code 
  
• Running RTL simulations 
  
• Running gate-level simulations 
  
• Debugging simulation failures and suggesting solutions to design team 
  
• Improving simulation environment 
  

 Minimum requirements: 

• Graduate or undergraduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering 
  
• Strong knowledge of HDL coding (Verilog, System Verilog, VHDL) 
  
• Experience running RTL and gate-level simulations 
  
• Knowledge of shell scripting and Perl programming 
  
• Good communication and teamwork skills 
  

 Nice to Have Skills: 

• Knowledge of OVM/UVM verification methodologies 
  
• Familiarity with I/O interfaces (I2C, SPI, SDIO, UART, etc.) 
  
• Familiarity with bus architectures (AHB, APB, etc.) 
  
• Familiarity with CPUs and MCUs 
  
• Knowledge of clocking, dividers, PLLs, etc. 
  
• Understanding of asynchronous design techniques
